Does plastic surgery gives an addiction?
The answer is absolutely yes. Plastic surgery addiction falls into a
category of addiction known as behavioral or process addiction. They addicted
to the physical changes despite any harmful effects.
According to board certified New York plastic
surgeon, Dr. Sydney Coleman, the reason for this phenomenon happening due to a
medical condition called Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD). Individual who
suffered from this disorder has an abnormality imagination about their appearance
as they saw themselves ugly although it is not. This obsession causes
significant social or occupational impairment, as well as emotional problems.
They often seek plastic surgery in order to alleviate their distress about
themselves.

At the root of it all, it is back to that
person itself. Although there is no magic lamp to rub on or shining star to
wish upon, one should not change to gain others acceptance. Inner beauty is
more important than physical beauty as it shines longer. We are what our

ReplyDeleteI personally agree with the author's point of view where she stated that the people nowadays crave for physical perfection, they can go all out just to look pretty , they even take the risk by undergoing plastic surgery .
Next , I also agree with the author's point in which social factor causes the rise in popularity of plastic surgery , This is because the people are influenced by their gorgeous idols who have undergoned plastic surgery . So , they are willing to follow their idol's step just to look as perfect as their idols.
However , there should be more factors other than the social factor and medical factor . The wealth of a person can drive him or her to go for plastic surgery too , as it can be a symbol of rich .
